Barbadians Dyson Benskin and Calvin Brathwaite were not charged in connection with a major drug bust at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Florida last Saturday.
Media outlets in Florida had reported that the two men who were on vacation were arrested and charged for drug trafficking.
However, Brathwaite’s attorney Ralph Thorne told VOB 92.9 this afternoon that the two men returned home on Tuesday and they were not charged.
“I have spoken to both young men who would have given me permission to issue a public statement to say that they are back in Barbados, they arrived back in Barbados on Tuesday.
“They suffered a period of detention while investigations transpired in the United States and they have not been charged with any offence, as far as we are aware they have been released without any condition, “ Thorne said.
