Yarde’s absenteeism costs him

Twenty-year-old Jahlanny Tramaine Yarde will remain on remand at HMP Dodds.

The Block 6B, Silver Hill Drive, Christ Church resident appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant for the first time today having recently been remanded by the Oistins Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that he stole $7,700 cash belonging to Nadia Griffith on December 22, 2017.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and acting Station Sergeant Cameron Gibbons objected to his bail.

The prosecutor pointed to the seriousness of the charge, the fact that the accused was currently on bail from the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court for aggravated burglary and fears that he would reoffend if granted bail at this time.

“He has not been attending court and a warrant was issued for his arrest in April,” Gibbons said as Yarde’s attorney Romain Marshall declined to make an application for bail.

The accused was then remanded to the St Philip facility until October 15.
