Justice Sotomayor For Puerto Rico Today

CaribWorldNews, SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Weds. Dec. 16, 2009: U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Sonia Sotomayor, is set to arrive in the homeland of her parents today, Weds. Dec. 16th.
Justice Sotomayor is visiting Puerto Rico this week for the first time since becoming the U.S. Supreme Court`s first Hispanic justice.
Sotomayor, 55, is due to attend meetings with local judges and visit relatives during the trip. Her last visit came after her nomination by Obama in May but before she was sworn in as the court`s third female justice in August.
Sotomayor`s mother was born in Lajas, a rural area on the southwest coast of Puerto Rico. Her father, who died when she was 9, was from San Juan.
